Final Blog!
My least favorite thing we did this semester was the Shakespeare stuff and my most favorite was the commercials for our Community Based Writing papers. I thought that the War & Rhetoric blog reflected technology by getting us to learn more about the words and meaning to each song, and to realize that every song has a very interesting meaning or point behind each song. Doing the in class review on the War & Rhetoric really helped me to see how important songs like these can be to each person. A lot of us don't realize how much some songs use the word God and other religious words in there songs to get the meaning of the song across to each person that may listen.

12 Angry Men
In watching this movie I think it shows everyone that when doing an argument or debate you have to look at all of the details (evidence)before you can come up with the right conclusion. Mr. Davis uses logic and reasoning by looking at every little evidence he could come up with and related it to how another person would react in the same situation. That is why I think his argument was so effective and opened some of the other jurors eyes. I don't feel that any of his arguments where ineffective. One example, for instance he did to prove the evidence was right, was trying to prove to everyone that there was no way it only took an old man who had a stroke 15 sec. to get from his bedroom to the door to see the boy run down the stairs. He got a layout of apartment and walked it himself and proved that it would of at least taken him 40 sec. to walk it instead of 15 sec. But all in all, I think this was a great movie to show because it really did relate to some of things that we have been over throughout the semester. I am so glad that the other jurors started to see where Mr. Davis was coming from, cause he was right! :)

Midterm
In looking back from the beginning of the semester till now, I feel that I have learned a lot over the past couple of months in English 103. When coming into this class I hated to write because I never could come up with neat ideas, but soon after begin here I feel that I have improved with my writing extremely. I can now sit down and write a 3-4 page paper in a day without any problems, and be able to make it sound creative as well. Although, I have learned that I need to work on putting more information into my writing, just as though I was really talking to someone. As for other things that we did in class, I really enjoyed reviewing how you do MLA format, annotated bibliography, visual arguments, BLOGS and some of the debates we had. Another thing I enjoyed and was glad we did was having a day at the library to help us learn easy ways to look up research and other things related to writing a paper. Eventhough, this can be boring at times, I'm glad now because at least I know how to look up information in the library. As for the BLOGS, I had a little trouble in the beginning with it so I don't know if I should get full credit for them because I had a hard time catching up and I don't think that I got to complete all of them on time. I do feel though that I deserve an A because unlike other people I do work extremely hard on all assignments that come my way, with the exception of the BLOGS, and feel that all of my hard work should pay off somehow. Overall, I do feel that this class has been great in helping me improve my writing, research, and creativity skills so that I may come out with a good grade.

Satire and Parody
I really enjoyed watching Family Guy and Robot Chicken in class the other day. First of all I love watching Family Guy, so of course I enjoyed those parts of the movie best. My favorite part was probably when the family guy family went to the daughters play and everyone was looking for a way to get to leave and go watch the grammys because she "sucked so bad". Although, I didn't enjoy the sexual "funny" parts of the movie. I thought that they might have gone a little over board for those parts. Overall, I thought it was a great idea Erin, I think we all needed a good laugh and time to relax. Thanks!

Debate
I thought that the Lake vs. Beach debate, was very fun and interesting. I didn't really expect for everything to go as smooth as it did. I thought both teams had very good points they made about each topic. I really did enjoy seeing parts of the mermaid movie that the other team showed also. I thought it was very thoughtful of them to come up with. Overall, it was a great idea to do.

Something for you to try!
Something I would suggest that you try Erin is Pilates. When I first thought of it, I didn't think I would like it at all, because I am the time of person that likes to sweat if i'm gonna execerise. To my surprise I needed up loving it! It is one of the most relaxing, exercising things I think I have ever done before. It also helps to keep you in shape and flexible at the same time. So I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My new adventures in English 103
When coming in this class, I expect to be able to have more confidence in writing papers, and to be more creative. I hope that I will be able to learn a lot about MLA format and be able to remember how to do without looking at a book for information on it.
For our first big project (paper) we are thinking about doing dorm conditions or university parking since this are two major issues on campus.
